A Polícia Rodoviária Federal (PRF) informou que o trânsito no km 768, da BR-354, foi totalmente liberado para todos os tipos de veículos no início da tarde desta sexta-feira (11), após mais de três meses de interdição.
O trecho, que passa pelo município de Itamonte, a 6 km da divisa dos estados de Minas Gerais e Rio de Janeiro, foi interditado no dia 27 de dezembro do ano passado, depois de grandes deslizamentos de terra que foram causados pelas chuvas daquele período.
Durante o Carnaval, o trecho chegou a ser liberado temporariamente para carros e motos, mas foi novamente interditado no dia 6 de março. Na época, o Departamento Nacional de Infraestrutura de Transportes (DNIT) informou que a previsão era que o trecho fosse aberto na primeira quinzena de março, o que não ocorreu.
